Managing your stress level during pregnancy is super-important. Stress Solutions for Pregnant Moms was written to help this process be easy, rewarding – and super good for your baby.
The formula is (A + B) – 25 = C.
The following paragraphs explain how easily the A-B-C Formula can work for you.
Form “A” measures BASELINE STRESS. It is a short questionnaire to help you discover your stress levels BEFORE pregnancy. Your baseline is important because the higher the number, the more responsive you need to be to stress on a daily basis while you are pregnant. You only need to complete this once.
Form “B” gives a tally of your DAILY HASSLES. It is a quick checklist that should be completed, well – DAILY. It is alot like counting the calories that you consume so that you know how much you need to burn to maintain your weight. The score that Form B gives you is a sum of the day’s worries, nuisances, aggravations and those little interpersonal stresses.
Is that really the number 25 in that formula? YES! 25 is really an arbitrary number that gives you credit for what your body normally does to reduce stress daily: visit with a friend, do a little workout, have a relaxing dinner, watch a little tv or read a book, get a decent nights sleep. If today is not one of those days, then you might decide to adjust this number and give yourself fewer points.
Now the fun part comes. Plug those numbers into the formula and you will get a number recommending the amount of Relaxation CREDIT Points that will help you neutralize your stress. Form “C” lists ACTIVITIES and CREDIT points for reducing the stress of the day. Choosing Activities from this list will reduce your extra stress just like an exercise session reduces extra calories consumed.
Using Form C will give you CREDIT points for over 30 relaxation strategies. Each activity that you choose reduces your stress by the number of points listed. In Part 3 of the book you will find a full description of the exercises and activities along with Relaxation CREDIT Points (C) to help you erase the stress that you experienced today. More points are given to those techniques that are recognized to reduce stress hormones most quickly.
This is an easy system to stop the accumulation of stress hormones in your system so that your baby has a more nutritious and comfortable environment to grow in. It only takes a few minutes each day and It’s as easy as A-B-C!
